Our technology

While Braemore is not involved in mining operations directly and intends expanding its direct exposure to mining operations in the future, its distinctive competitive advantage lies in the unique technology that it has proprietary access to, both in the PGMs and nickel markets.

Hydrometallurgical processing of nickel

At the very outset of the Leinster project it was believed that a conventional preliminary flotation would be needed to concentrate tailings prior to atmospheric oxidation and pressure leaching.

Mintek ConRoast smelter

Conventional “six-in-line” platinum smelting technology, though well understood, is at least 30 years old and has limitations in terms of chrome content in concentrate, PGM recoveries and SO2 emissions.

Apart from the economic and technical advantages of ConRoast over conventional six-in-line smelters, the process has significant environmental advantages.

Our projects

Braemore has diversified both geographically and in respect of product – nickel and platinum, located in principal deposits in their respective host countries, Australia and South Africa.
